Hostel Rules
- Group Leader: Every group needs a leader who will be responsible for the behaviour of the group. We also require this person to put down a credit or debit card upon arrival along with signing a form agreeing to the behavioural expectations set forth by us. This card may be charged in the event of damages or rule violations.
- Smoking: Smoking is only allowed outside. It is a £200 fine if anyone is caught smoking in the hostel and the entire group will be asked to leave immediately without refund.
- Drinking alcohol: Drinking is only allowed downstairs in the common room. We are a licensed pub and the alcohol needs to be bought from us otherwise it violates our licence. People caught violating this rule will be asked to leave immediately without refund, this means expulsion of the entire group. We do not tolerate loud, abusive or drunken behaviour-so don’t book with us if you think this will be a problem.
- Noise: Since we are located so close to the city centre and many night clubs, Friday and Saturday nights have a tendency to be quite noisy. Please keep this in mind if you book with us over a weekend.
- Behaviour: We expect people who stay here to be respectful of other guests and to adhere to our quiet hours after 11pm. We understand people will be coming and going at various times, but please do your best to keep the noise down for other guests. If group behaviour is excessively disruptive, the group will be asked to leave immediately without refund.
- Photo Identification: Photo ID is needed for entry and helps to protect both us, and other guests. We reserve the right to refuse entry if people don’t have valid photo identification.

Group booking terms and conditions:
- Payment and cancellation policy: We require all group bookings to put down a 50% deposit to secure the reservation. This deposit needs to be paid within one week of making the reservation; otherwise the reservation will be cancelled. The remainder of the balance is due 14 days before the booking. Cancellation of your group reservation or reduction in bed numbers must be sent via email and received at least 30 days prior to the 2pm check in time in order to receive your full deposit back. Reservations cancelled within 30-15 day prior to arrival will forfeit the cost of one night’s accommodation times the number of guests staying (for example, 23 people x £15= £345.) Reservations cancelled or bed numbers reduced with 14 days notice or less to the arrival date’s 2pm check in time will receive no refund. We reserve the right to cancel out group bookings whose full payments are not received within 14 days of the arrival date. Payment can be made either by credit card, cheque or bank transfer. Please note: all cheques should be payable to: Backpackers Republic Ltd. If paying by credit card, please call us on 0121 643 0033 as we will need to get credit card details from you.
- Bed allocations: Unless your group wants complete occupancy of a room and is willing to pay for the entire amount of beds in the room, it is possible there may be others in the room that are not part of the group. If sole occupancy of a room is required, please note that all beds in room must be paid for. Groups are allocated rooms based on gender, unless a mixed room is requested.
